Recently, the security research institution NinjaLab published a report on the EUCLEAK side-channel attack (click for details). The report indicated that certain devices using specific security microcontroller solutions (Infineon SLE78 series security element) and equipped with certain built-in cryptographic libraries may be more vulnerable to such attacks.
The imKey team takes this matter seriously and has conducted a comprehensive evaluation and analysis immediately. Hereby, we solemnly declare that: The imKey Pro hardware wallet is not affected by the EUCLEAK vulnerability mentioned in the NinjaLab report, and the assets of imKey users remain secure.
Clarification of Facts:
-
imKey Pro does not use the Infineon cryptographic library and poses no potential risk
According to the NinjaLab report, the EUCLEAK attack targets only devices that use Infineon security chips with integrated Infineon cryptographic libraries. imKey Pro employs a cryptographic library independently developed by Feitian Technologies, which differs significantly from Infineon’s library. It has been confirmed that the vulnerability mentioned in the report does not exist (refer to sections 7.2.2 and 7.6 of the NinjaLab report). -
Feitian’s cryptographic library meets international security standards
The cryptographic library developed by Feitian Technologies has been certified by NIST under FIPS 140-2, meaning it adheres to stringent global security standards, ensuring the safety of users' assets. (For more information, please refer to Feitian’s official statement).
